Freund - friend or boyfriend? Thread starter joyisima85 Start date May 14, Hi, i'd like to know when you use freund and freundin? Wann Du Deine Freundin in Frankfurt besuchen kommst? Just a friend or a boyfriend And what does the whole phrase mean? I'd appreciate all the help i can get, thanks a lot!
Whodunit Senior Member. Click to expand I have no idea if this changes the meaning of it all But it was a guy that wrote this, a german one so that's why im interested in knowing that he means Lincoln, England. Lazarus, i usually refer to my guy friends as "male friends" and the guy that im dating as "boyfriend" thanks for the help! Last edited: Dec 9, HilfswilligerGenosse Senior Member.
German, High German. Yes, "ein Freund von ihm" non capital letter is correct. Also "Hans ist sein Freund" would not make native speakers think of a gay couple. HilfswilligerGenosse, thank you very much! American English. HilfswilligerGenosse said:. If it's platonic, I would stick with "Hans ist ein Freund von ihm". Thank you very much for your input, Manfy.
