Samuel Pasillas, the year-old pastor for a Spanish-speaking church in Victorville, is accused of hiring hitmen to kill a man dating his daughter. Police served search warrants March 13 at houses in Victorville, Long Beach and Lynwood, leading to the arrests of Pasillas and year-old Juan Manuel Cerebros, who police say is one of the men Pasillas allegedly hired for the shooting.
Investigators say the crime unfolded on Oct. The victim told police a car pulled up next to him at a stop sign, and gunfire erupted from it. Evidence was gathered at the scene, and robbery-homicide detectives started a follow-up investigation during which they found evidence that Pasillas allegedly organized the shooting as part of a murder-for-hire plot.
Police say Pasillas met with the men he hired and allegedly provided them with information about the victim, including his location the night of the shooting.
