When Corinna Evans' mother is sent to prison, Corinna has nowhere else to go so she moves back in with her father and his family. Determined to make it through these last few months of school, she only wants to keep a low profile and get by but som Jessica quirked a brow at me. I just shook my head at the two of them, about to follow after Jessica when someone called my name behind me.
She nodded and with a wave, she drifted through the crowd, meeting up with her parents and friends. My lips automatically tilted into a grin as my brother launched himself at me as soon as I was facing him. I held my arms out, catching him easily, depositing him on my hip in a smooth, practiced motion.
He nodded solemnly. I laughed, loving this little guy so much that my heart ached with it. What do you say, kid? He squinted his eyes at me for a moment, considering it deeply before nodding. Was graduation supposed to be so emotional?
