How can I help? The first and most important item is local monetary donations. We receive the Agency funds after we spend the funds we have collected from Local sources. Local sources come from individual donors, churches, area businesses and other area organizations. We serve a large contingent of needy and elderly people and this requires a large number of volunteers. Greater Hammond Community Services has only 3 full time employees on it's payroll however, approximately people volunteer to help each year.
Food and personal toiletries are needed on a continuing basis. The donations received by GHCS go to benefit the people we service in the form of food, toiletries, etc. By utilizing these funds in a very responsible manner we can help more families that have been temporarily set back by illness, job loss, catastrophe, or other hardship.

Food donations may be dropped off at the pantry use rear door in parking lot - ring buzzer on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from a. Building is Closed every Friday.
