Maru scanned the room, her eyes eventually landed on a shirtless Harvey, flushed red with a blanket up to his chin. She felt her legs carrying her to Harvey, stopping only once she was at the foot of the bed. Harvey was a pale man. Everyone in town knew it, everyone also knew that he was the go to person when they were in heat, or rut for that matter.
One of the many betas in town, he seemed immune to the scents of the few Alphas and Omegas that came through his clinic over the course of the week. He was trusted. So she arrived early, opened the clinic alone and got to work, quiet so as to not disturb the Doctor upstairs. She stepped away from the lab, moving towards the door that connected the clinic to Harvey's apartment.
Harvey shifted under the blanket, causing it to fall midway and low enough for Maru to see his — usually pale— chest, bright red and the faint sticky outline of where a scent patch might have been.
