Cao was recently voted one of the most influential artists in the world. Her acclaimed films, photography and large-scale installations offer thrilling encounters with the disorienting, quick-fire transformations of the new millennium. Enter the exhibition via a replica s Beijing cinema foyer, and exit through a homage to a popular Sydney yum cha restaurant.
Designed by the artist and Beau Architects of Hong Kong, the exhibition takes the form of a cityscape. This is a high-sensory experience. The exhibition includes darkened spaces, video and reality works with flashing lights, sudden movement and intense visuals. Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times. Also available free for loan are aids for people with low vision, including magnifying glasses and large-print labels.
