Ellen Odester Dixon, 58, beloved mother of the Dixon family, peacefully passed away on January 30, , in her home surrounded by her loving children. Ladybug, as she was affectionately called by her family, was born on February 15, , in Chicago, Illinois. She had an extraordinary gift for nurturing deep, long lasting relationships with those around her. Her home was always open, serving as a gathering place for family and friends. Ellen's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment.
She loved to shop, play games, and watch movies. As a mother of four, and grandmother of nine, Ellen was the heart of our family. She instilled her children with strong values and religious beliefs. Her kitchen was the gathering place for holiday celebrations, and impromptu family meetings. Our mother had a knack for remembering every birthday, anniversary, and important date in her children's and grandchildren's lives, never failing to send a card or make a call.
She never failed to show up for those around her. A celebration of Ellen's life will be held on February 7, , at p. All donations will go towards the future of her grandchildren.
