Curious as we are, we like to find out why she lives in this beautiful region, what she does for a living, and some of her Languedoc favourites. This month we would like you to meet the dazzling Johanna Wrenby as Ramoneta of the Month.
Being a city girl, I had always lived in the city centre of Stockholm, Sweden. Since I started work, I gained a lot of experience in many different jobs, from project manager for a theatre to an agent representing kitchenware. I was around 40 years old when I first came to the Languedoc region. My boyfriend at the time had a daughter who lived near Montpellier 1 , and I completely fell in love with this region.
I remember that I got off the plane and smelled the lovely garrigue for the first time. I was so overwhelmed by this pure scent that I started to cry. Our visits to Montpellier awakened the France feeling in me and I wanted to learn the language.
So, back home, I started to study by watching French television, listening to French music, and taking lessons from a tutor. It was clear that I wanted to live in France, and I wanted to be prepared! In , I was single and needed a change of life. By chance, I discovered this beautiful guesthouse in Peyriac-de-Mer 2 through friends.
In , the opportunity to buy Le Flamant Rouge came up, and I jumped in. You could say that I succeeded in changing my life. Somehow, time seems to move more slowly since turning my life upside down. I create more memories. It helped a lot that I already spoke French, which made the move easier.
