Chappell Roan took the Grammys stage on Sunday with the ultimate clown hoedown, marking her first appearance at the award show.
To start the performance, Roan sat on a giant pink pony surrounded by clowns in dramatic Western outfits and makeup. The stage was decked out with old-timey billboards and wagons, as Roan danced around belting out the song. Roan wore a multicolored corset top with shorts, cowboy boots, and a feather cowboy hat over her long red hair.
It was a major outfit change from the beautiful Jean Paul Gaultier gown and combat boots she wore on the red carpet. The choice comes after the LA fires ravaged the city and were in line with the theme of dedicating the evening to those who lost their homes. After being nominated for the first time and having a record-breaking year, Chappell Roan shared her thoughts on the milestone via Instagram last week.
