Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, the wine region of Montalcino is a haven for wine enthusiasts, especially those with a penchant for the revered Brunello di Montalcino. This year, I had the pleasure of visiting several esteemed wineries as part of the Benvenuto Brunello event, where I gained new insights into their practices, vintages, and the distinct characteristics that define their wines.
Opportunities like this do not come very often. Participating in the Spanish Wine Master competition was an unforgettable adventure β a thrilling mix of tasting, learning, and sharing the stage with a passionate group of Spanish wine professionals. Our visit started the previous night with a dinner at O Segredo Do Retiro restaurant hosted by the Consejo Regulador, where we got a sneak peek into what laid ahead the following day. We visited historic wineries, met renowned winemakers, and savored the delicious cuisine from this green corner of Spain.
