I've been using the term "film" in place of the proper "video" that you used. I know everything is digital now, but have a hard time remembering that even though I have a DVR, a couple of DVD players, and a video camera that uses digital memory to record. I'm pretty certain I do not want to see the video. If you were watching Archie, you're focusing on the wrong thing. Archie would've never Waited 4 weeks to backup. Had to see where the chips would fall.
Apologize away, Bobby, but the "me love you long time" story will live on. I get why he apologized. Throw yourself at the mercy of the fanbase, which quite frankly doesn't give two shits about it either way, and then let them help you fight the league for light disciplinary action It's not the worst tactic. But I don't see any logic behind continuing to fight the local authorities in a legal battle when all it does is give the story another 2 months worth of legs to run on, with his character continuing to be dragged through the mud all the while.
The league doesn't need a criminal conviction to pursue disciplinary action if it's a code of conduct violation, especially for the team owners who are held to a higher standard. One of the schools of thought for why he apologized now is the owner's meetings are coming up and rather than have to take questions there he can fall back on his statement from today. Well, is Kraft being crafty in waiving his next court appearance and has now formally requested a jury trial to be judged by a panel of his peers?
I know it is costly for a court to go through the steps necessary to impanel a jury so he may be dicking the DA around. I just don't see this going to a jury before another plea bargain is put on the table.
I could be wrong. It will be interesting to see what the league does in the coming weeks. If they do anything, that is, not buying into the perception that he's the "victim" here. A local reporter from the Sun-Sentinel did an in-depth article a week ago on the current status of the case. He found over men that had been charged with solicitation and an attorney representing over 20 of them that challenged the use of the camera in building evidence against them.
