Did you know that BankID was used 7,1 billion times last year? Almost every Swedish adult has a BankID, and its used with thousands of companies and authorities. We are both proud and humbled by the confidence we have gained. The issuing bank determine the age limit. Most commonly, you need to be either 13 or 18 years old. Don't erase your BankID on your old phone when you get a new one. For security reasons your BankID can't be copied to the new phone, so you need to activate a new BankID in your internet bank.
You can use your BankID on the old phone to activate the new one. Visit your bank's website and follow the instructions. Sometimes you may need to verify your identity an extra time. This may be requested if you want to get a new BankID digitally without visiting your bank's branch, or when you do something that requires higher security, such as a large payment.
You verify your identity by scanning and tapping your Swedish passport or national ID card issued by the Swedish Police, with your smart phone. If you don't have either of these ID documents issued by the Swedish Police, contact your bank. In case you don't have a Swedish passport or national ID card, you can apply at the Swedish police if you are a Swedish citizen. If you can't get either of these ID documents, please contact your bank to see if they can help you in some way.
