I had lunch there a few weeks ago with a friend who always buys lunch. I met a friend there for dinner the other night. Neither of us had been, it was a cold night and Mexican sounded good.
I have to say that the cheese dip was outstanding. Everything else was good but not what you would expect for an 85 buck tab.
That's a lot to pay for a weeknight non-date type meal. That and the server talked our heads off about how her male customers all hit on her.
I somehow was able to summon the fortitude to resist. Will I go back? I guess. It's close by my house. But I won't be a regular. I know it's a chain. I know, I am not much on chain food. Really, I'm not. I'd much rather experience local eateries and support local restauranteurs. But I can't help but liking Cantina Laredo. Even with the prices. Our location here is pretty new. It opened in Midtown Mall last fall and, well, I pretty much ignored it.
In fact, I was pretty determined not to go because of a review from a friend who said it was pricey to the extreme. But on a Wednesday afternoon in March my traveling companion and I found ourselves with a limited time to grab a bite and right in the area. And rather than try the old standby of Pei Wei again which I like, don't get me wrong, but you can have too much of it we decided to pop in to Cantina Laredo.
