FOX26 — The Riverside County Sheriff's Office announced 64 people have been arrested during a nearly week-long enforcement operation that targeted online prostitution.
The operation focused on online prostitution and those who demand these unlawful activities. In total, arrests were made. Initial investigations led the task force to believe these women were being forced to engage in acts of prostitution against their will. The victims were referred to victim services for assistance as the investigation into their sex trafficking continues.
The task force placed decoy advertisements on popular websites commonly used for the solicitation of prostitution. When prospective customers replied to the advertisement, an agreement for sex was made and time and location was set. Subjects arrested during this operation were transported to the detention center in closest proximity to the operational area each day.
