A trip to Goree Island is an essential experience for visitors to Dakar. You will discover what was an important center for the Atlantic slave trade and learn all about this terrifying chapter of history. We will collect you from your hotel at around 9 am before heading in the air-conditioned vehicle to the port of Dakar.
There, a ferry will be waiting to take you to the island of Goree. After a journey of approximately 20 minutes, we will arrive on the small island off the coast of Senegal's Cape Verde Peninsula. To learn more about this dark period in history, we will head into the House of Slaves , a museum in memory to the millions of people which were held captive and sold here.
