Serenity had a broken nose, bruises and cuts all over her body, and the piercings in her ears torn out. Pino pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in the case after people who came across the video sent it to Albuquerque police. Prosecutors wanted her in juvenile detention for two years, but Judge Catherine Begaye sentenced her to probation with an ankle monitor. Court documents show Pino violated probation multiple times, and Judge Begaye put her in juvenile detention for nine months early last year.
She was on supervised probation last week when Serenity and her parents heard her name on the news. It was a matter of time before she was going to go out and do something like that again.
