Offensively, Phillips contributes with her speed and physicality. Phillips said she has gotten much stronger since last year. Phillips is also an excellent free-throw shooter. During a recent practice, she made 20 straight shots from the charity stripe. Phillips is more confident in both her offensive and defensive play since gaining experience as a starter. The Division II Pride boast a strong transition offense and press defense, McNutt said after his team used both to defeat Pelham, , at home last Thursday.
We want to defend well and get easy baskets down the other end, but we also want to play smart offense as well. In losses earlier this season, MV came down in transition but then took a bad shot.
