Our curriculum is designed to prepare students ages 3 years to 5 years old, all must be toilet-trained for Kindergarten. Classroom activities support the cultivation of creativity, problem-solving skills and social skills. Each day incorporates structured learning experiences as well as free choice times and cooperative play. The Peabody PreKindergarten program is in compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, and codes for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Our holistic approach incorporates music, movement and student interests to foster curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. The PreKindergarten friends are thinking and working like scientists to explore how living things share our Earth home and interact with each other, their habitats, and the four seasons. Meaningful science themes inspire our work across the curriculum and introduce the little ones to understandings from zoology, botany, marine ecology, meteorology, hydrology, astronomy, and paleontology.
The children enjoy real-world opportunities for serving as environmental stewards at school, and they are developing skills for working together to solve problems that require courage, creativity, and collaboration.
Ninety percent of brain growth takes place before Kindergarten, and the neural connections that support the higher-level abilities of motivation, self-regulation, problem solving, and communication are formed during the preschool years.
Our Pre Kindergarten nurtures the whole child, helping them grow into kind, courageous, and empathetic individuals. Students learn to care for themselves and others, building self-confidence and practicing self-direction and personal responsibility.
