We have been living and serving in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for just over a year now. Overall our transition has gone well. However, lately we have been feeling quite inadequate, weak and worn out.
Maybe even harder is that it seems as if we are struggling while others involved in ministries around us are thriving we want to thrive too! Please keep The Forsaken Children and Onesimus in your constant prayers. Ministry to street children is often so, so hard. If it were easy everyone would be doing it, right?
Pray for our community kids, halfway home kids and the children still living on the streets. Pray for us and the Onesimus team, that we would have a deep passion for the kids we work with. That our God given abilities, talents and gifts will be used effectively to love and serve the kids. Pray for Joe as he continues to step into more teaching opportunities.
He had a bone marrow biopsy and had surgery this past Monday to remove lymph node modulars. Joe continues to learn Amharic. He is now taking lessons 2 afternoons a week so that he can focus on ministry in the mornings.
Pray that he continues to work hard and progress in his language learning β especially that comprehension will come more easily to him. Pray that I am able to finish 2nd grade strong with the kids.
