IUP Health Service offers confidential and gender-inclusive reproductive health consultations. Our goal is to provide students with a private, non-judgmental environment to receive care and education regarding sexual health concerns and needs. Contraception or birth control options are available at Health Service.
An appointment with a provider is required to discuss options and determine if an annual exam is needed. You can receive selected birth control from Health Service or receive a script to take to a local pharmacy. Download a guide that describes the various types of birth control options. DepoProvera injections can be administered at Health Service. Specific information from your provider is needed prior to Depo injection administration.
Call , email health-inquiry iup. Emergency Contraception is offered at Health Service for free. Consultation with a nurse is required in order to receive emergency contraception. You can call or email for an appointment, or stop in to consult with a nurse. Sexual Health Testing, including pregnancy testing, is offered at Health Service. Pregnancy testing requires a urine sample and is free for students. Gonorrhea and chlamydia screening can be done anytime during regular patient care hours.
This testing is for anyone who is not having symptoms or who has not been exposed to an STD. If you are having symptoms of an STD, or you have been told you were exposed to someone with an STD, we ask that you schedule an appointment with a provider to discuss testing options and prophylaxis treatment. Most STD testing is done from a urine, blood, or swab sample. Here is a list of testing options and fees.

Hormone replacement therapy is not offered at Health Service; however, our staff is able to help with referrals to providers that offer HRT. We can assist with hormone injection administration and education for students already receiving hormone injections.
