Bulgarian national Dzhambazov, 43, has admitted to spying in the UK on behalf of Russia. Dzhambazov was found in bed with alleged Russian spy Vanya Gaberova pictured , at a flat in Euston, north London which was raided by police in February She said Dzhambazov first recruited her to carry out surveillance on Christo Grozev, an investigative journalist for a British-based website who exposed the identities of the Russian FSB agents responsible for the Salisbury nerve agent attack in However, she claimed that in late she began questioning the 'real purpose' of what she was doing for the first time on the way to Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, southern Germany.
Orlin Roussev, who allegedly ran the spy ring from a guesthouse in Great Yarmouth, believed the site was used for training Ukrainian troops to operate Patriot missile air defence batteries. It's alleged the spies were planning to deploy an 'lmsi' device at the barracks of the US Army base to collect mobile phone data of Ukrainians training on the US missile system. This data, the court heard, could then be used by Russian forces to track Ukrainians to the frontline. Describing when she started to question her being there, Ivanova told jurors: 'When we was walking from the hotel to the barracks, this is when I started questioning exactly what was going on.
Cross-examining on Tuesday, prosecutor Ms Morgan said: 'You know it's an army barracks. What is it that worries you?
