Please don't make the mistake of keeping info. If we don't have family details then we can't work on much. ANY family info. Place of birth is a good starter, addresses, marriage certs. Just tell us what you know and you may well be surprised at the response.
Checking on Ancestry, register for a man with a birth date of Your "relative" may not be from Yorkshire at all, without any further info. Could be connected to this fellow. Until Katy G comes back with some more family info. I think it is very difficult to prove anything.
I had come up with the same soldier as you have but not many Pals seem to explore the same routes as me. Presumably Wood being her maiden name. The date of the relatives capture of 27th May, , in Roucy would rule out the above soldier. It would be so much easier with all the family history which usually leads to the right person.
