Saint Etienne have never been "down with the kids", so I'm not sure if that would be a consideration in any collaboration with them. I like Sarah Cracknell, but it all strikes me as a bit familiar and superfluous really. I am sorry if it was misconstrued. I did not mean a collaboration or album that gets all the notice like Mike Posner or something.

Contemporary culture generally is too emotional, really I'd rather people looked to the truth. Sarah Cracknell's duet with Marc Almond on that Dusty cover was a disaster in my opinion. I think SE stopped being an Indie band a long time ago though and the ages of the members of the band are early-mid 40s, so about as much in tune with the kids as the Pets.
Since my "supposed" family members came up, they mostly like the Pet Shop Boys, but can't stand the Liza album. But I think it's the last breath of 80s PSB, the end of the imperial era. Don't Drop Bombs isn't too shabby either. Rent and Tonight Is Forever are over the top though. It really was the last classic lineup. Although I guess post-production by Hague and strings by Dudley on Very account for something.
