Honest and effective help for couples, relationships and blended families in and around West Valley City, Utah. Many families enjoy the benefit from equine assisted psychotherapy EAP. Both adults and youth enjoy the environment and being able to learn from their equine partners. Through EAP families learn different types of communication skills.
These skills will be addressed in therapy weekly through an experiential modality that helps reinforce positive and negative types of communication. For families that are in a cycle of chaos, co-dependency, or enabling behavior, we help set healthy boundaries and break the routine. We provide education on mood issues and alcohol and drug addiction, and help teach families effective ways to communicate and resolve conflict with each other. We also provide substance abuse intervention services to help a family member or friend who is struggling with addiction accept treatment.
We are well connected with the recovery services available in the community, such as outpatient groups, rehab, and sober living; and we can provide referrals to addiction professionals to support sobriety. I am currently offering in-person sessions for children as our clinic is geared towards school-age clients and tele-therapy for both children and adults.
I offer specialized one-on-one speech and language therapy tailored to the individual's needs. If you are looking for a speech and language evaluation, we also offer those as well. Most experienced therapists will concur that one's family relationships enormously impact one's fulfillment and happiness.
And so it is no surprise that serious family discord can make life really tough or downright miserable! Starting with seven years working with troubled teenage boys, David has been helping families resolve troubled relationships for almost 20 years. One of his greatest satisfactions is witnessing the healing and forgiveness that can take place when family members truly communicate heart to heart.
