Somerville Police set up a sting operation and arrested a woman for allegedly offering to perform oral sex for money, according to a police report. The police department's drug and vice unit conducted the sting operation at 30 Washington Streetβthe address of the Boston-Somerville Holiday Innβon June 28 as part of an ongoing effort to curb the illegal sex trade industry in Somerville, the report says.
As part of this ongoing effort, police routinely monitor classified listings, looking for those that advertise sexual services, according to the report.
A police inspector with the drug and vice unit responded to one such classified ad using a cell phone, and the year-old Boston woman who answered the phone quoted him fees for sexual conduct and told him to contact her when he arrived at the hotel lobby, according to the police report. The report then goes on to describe how the inspector called the woman when he arrived at the hotel, and she invited him to one of the hotel rooms.
At this point, according to the report, the woman began to take her cloths off, and the inspector used a pre-arranged signal to notify the police arrest team, which entered the hotel room and arrested the woman.
