View Full Version : Grappling hook? So I've been fishing a fair bit in the NSR recently, and at the spot I go to, there's a big freakin' log out there that has a tendency to eat everybody's tackle, and it can get kinda frustrating fishing out there.
Last Sunday I think? I was out there with a couple other forum members, and we were tossing an anchor out there to bring in some of the crap. Pulled out some branches with a ton of snaggled up pickerel rigs as well as a bunch of other random stuff, but we can't hook on to that supid log I'm looking for some suggestions as to what I can use to actually hook on to that stupid thing so we can drag it out of there! Crossed my mind! But after seeing all the hooks that came up with those branches I'm pretty sure I'll get stabbed at least a few times if I go wandering around out there.
Seen a lot of nasty crap washed up on shore there too I don't wanna hear that story How far out? How deep? How big? Type of tree? Can you see it or just feel it? Hey Geezle, if you are talking about the "Legends spot" I know the snag. We were going to take the one ton diesel down there one of these days and winch that sucker out with the winch.
I am not so sure it is just a log though. Someone told me once that it is part of an old bridge and logs are jamed in it. Tree Maybe ' out No idea what kind of tree, but when the river was low and it was windy out, I managed to see stumpy branches just breaking the surface, so I have a pretty good idea where it is.
You can definitely feel when you catch it with the anchor, but it just won't grab. Tree Type of tree? Why does that matter? Questions only Tree, thee master of trees and all to do with trees, would need the answer too Yep, that's the spot.
