How precious also are Your thoughts toward me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand…”
Psalm 139:17-18
God Thinks Of Me As The Apple Of His Eye
“He found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; he encircled him,
he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.”
Deuteronomy 32:10
This saying “apple of your eye” refers to something so precious, so valued and cherished, like dearly beloved grandchildren. The literal translation is “little man of the eye,” referring to the tiny reflection you can see of yourself when you look closely into another’s eye. Four times in scripture God writes that His people are the apple of his eye. He sees you. Up close and personal. And He just adores what He sees! He has fond affection for you and when you demonstrate fond affection for Him, it fills Him with joy! You might say that you “found God”, but truthfully, He found you. He’s got you covered, He’s taught you His ways, and He will keep you close. Live today secure in the knowledge that He sees it all in real time. Whatever seems like a dry desert, or like a waste, whatever’s screaming at you today – deal with it not as a helpless lost victim, but as the apple of His eye.
